Welcome to the Hull Afro-Caribbean Association (HACA)! 🌟
Since 1983, we’ve been a vibrant and integral part of the Hull community. Our roots run deep, and our commitment to uplifting and empowering our Afro Caribbean and BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) communities remains unwavering.
HACA is deeply involved in its community, offering various programs and initiatives. Weekly Drop-Ins, Free Food Bags, and monthly socials provide support and connection.
We extend a helping hand, and sense of belonging to a cross section of our community, through a range of weekly and monthly activities, events, and projects - examples of which include our weekly Wednesday Drop-In WHICH provides warm meals, company, and networking in a friendly atmosphere; our weekly Friday Free Food Bags, which help feed many families and individuals struggling with the cost of living pressures
We understand the importance of economic stability. Our team assists individuals in creating and maintaining CVs, ensuring they are well-prepared for job opportunities.
As part of our Compassionate HACA ethos, our community commitment extends to our elders. We undertake home visits and help make them feel valued and cared for.
We promote physical well-being through exercise sessions e.g. Aerobics, Yoga, and Keep Fit etc. We work with other providers to deliver health and wellness e.g. Samba Drumming - a rhythmic sessions not only uplift spirits but also can connect one culturally. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages): We facilitate language learning to empower our community members.
